Soy Candle Making - Easier Than Traditional Candle Making

If you are concerned about making an effort to protecting our environment, using soy candles may be the solution for you. Unlike petroleum-made candles, which generate harmful greenhouse gasses when lit, soy candles are more environmentally friendly and can be used as a substitute in any situation in which you would ordinarily use petroleum candles. Why are they greener, you ask? These candles are made from soy wax, another form of soybean oil.

More and more people are using soy candles and they are sold in all types of shops including supermarkets and through online shops. You can enjoy number of advantages by using soy candles which includes money saving, free of pollution, less soot generation and faster scent dispersion.

The mess from traditional candles is ugly and difficult to clean. Conversely, the natural alternative burns cleanly and any waste can be removed with soap and water. Indeed, the demand for such green products is sufficiently high that you can make soy candles in your spare time and sell them for profit!

Soy candle making is a breeze when compared to paraffin candle making. It is a helpful idea to prepare all the necessary raw materials including the containers and mason jars you will be using before you begin the soy candle making. The containers you have chosen to use for this process need to be very clean and dry.

A candle with a larger diameter should preferably have a thicker wick in it. To begin making your soy candles, you will need to heat a pan in order to melt the soy wax. It is best to melt the wax over a medium setting to avoid excessive smoking or burning of the soy wax. Once the wax is completely melted, you can mix in any scented oils you have chosen, and vigorously stir and mix it all until the oil has been totally absorbed in the hot soy wax.

To make candles of various hues, it is possible to create a blend of wax dyes. Then carefully transfer the partially melted soy wax into an appropriate glass container and set the wick into the center using a stick made of wood. After several moments, the wax will solidify and the wick will be able to be trimmed to the desired length. If you are searching for a way to make some money quickly and easily because you are in poor financial shape due to the current economic crisis, there's no better alternative to creating your own soy candles.

If you are concerned about the deteriorating environmental conditions and want to make some effort to protect it, then using soy candles for your daily use may be a good idea. It is more environmental friendly than any other candles for the simple reason that it is made from soy wax. If you make soy candles, you can also get some extra money by selling them through different stores. Unlike paraffin candles, soy candle making is very easy. If you'd like to make candles of a combination of different colors, you can mix a wax dye with a combination of your choice.
